    Indulge in a flight of fantasy
    Leonardo Da Vinci once said, “For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.” And so it is, nothing beats the experience of flying, especially when it means something as exciting and adrenaline pumping as paragliding!

    With more than 20 different companies offering paragliding in Pokhara, the sport has never been more hyped. Avia Club Nepal (ACN), the pioneer of various aerial adventure sports in Nepal, started operations in 2009 and has not looked back since. “People, irrespective of age, love to indulge in the thrill of adventure and paragliding is their top choice, as it not only gives a lifetime experience of bare flying but is equally safe, “states Barun Gyawali, manager of ACN. The good news is that there is no age barrier – the bad news is that you have to be of certain weight to be eligible.

    The take off station at Sarangkot is situated at a height of about 1,592m, and landing site is at Pame. The experience is sure to leave you awe-struck as you fly over the vivid blue Phewa Lake, raging Himalayan Rivers, alluring jungles and villages’ forgetten by time. After takeoff, you can relax and enjoy the enthralling experience as the pilot steers the glider. Also, there is a high quality camera installed in the glider that captures every moment of your experience. So shout out all you can and experience the good time fly!

    Paragliding by Avia Club Nepal
    Short flight (lasts 20 to 25 minutes): Rs.5,650 for Nepalis and Rs.8,475 for foreigners
    Cross country flight (lasts 40 to 50 minutes): Rs.8,475 for Nepalis and Rs.11,865 for foreigners
    *Both the above rates include pick up and drop off from and to any hotel on the Lake Side, Pokhara. Video facility, using the GoPro cameras (provided instantly after landing) Rs.1700

    Do
    > Wear comfortable, light clothes and sneakers or sandals.
    > Take a couple of careful strides right before landing and take off.
    > Co-operate with the pilot’s technique while flying.

    Don’t
    > Overload your attire with accessories or wear pointy heels.
    > Overstuff yourself with hearty meal before the flight.
    > Bring your own cameras unless you are extremely attentive about it.

    Views: Mountain ranges of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu, Phewa Lake, Peace Pagoda Stupa aaaand Pame village.
    Best seasons: Basically, Paragliding is suitable for all months, however, October to December and February to March have more thermal – heat energy – to lift gliders.
    Weight Limit: It is advised that only people weighing between 35 to 90 kgs pt for paragliding.
